Remembering Hip-Hop "Notorious BIG"

"BIG"

On this day 15 years ago Hip-Hop lost one of the best artist that this generation has known, Biggie Smalls, Notorious B.I.G, Big Poppa or just plain ole Big was a once in a lifetime type of artist, his lyrics told stories that most of the kids growing up now a days can't relate to but my generation called it "Struggle music". This form a music made Big special, with millions of fans that could relate to the words of one man this in turn made Big the spokesmen of every man and women growing up in a world that seemed hopeless and unforgiving to most Big was our voice.
15 years has past and there is no one that can compare to Big, his voice is sampled on thousands of
songs in rotation and many current artist credit Big for being their influence and reason for wanting to
become a rapper. In only two albums Big was able to captivate millions and even now gaining new fans
that weren’t even born when he was killed. Big lyrics were before his time in a era when many felt Hip-
Hop was dead Big pumped it back to life.

In just 24 years Big was able to make an eternal mark in the world of Hip-Hop, I often wonder

what would it be if he was still alive, what artist now would still be a factor if Big was still

around, how many albums would be on my laptop from Big and would I have had the chance to

shake his hand, and would the Biggie vs. 2Pac fund been ended with a collaboration album? So

many questions go thru my mind as I construct this post but as fan I would like to say Thank You

BIG, thank you for the music and the memories and for giving me hope.
