Respect The Game

This was my facebook post on 1/15/12 after the New England Patriots destroyed the Denver Broncos in the second round of the playoffs.

[I really hope ESPN doesn't make Tim Tebow into a success by failure story!!! Why do they want him to be so good anyway? Is it because he openly thanks GOD? Players have been doing that way before Tebow so what's the big deal? Players have taken a knee after scoring a touchdown or looking up to the heavens and saying thank you for as long as I can remember even I did this in my glory days. And now is it called Tebowing… I don't get it but I do get this, the clock has struck 12 on Tebow and his bandwagon tonight and if the bandwagon expects anything next year out of Tebow expect this A LOSING SEASON.]

I know the whole Tim Tebow story is a nice made for Hollywood story but when you put the actions of

one player over those that did it before him you disrespect the game. Sports media has made Tebow

a football God and for current players this just may be the biggest form of disrespect or slap in the

face for them in a longtime. As a player you never want to have a unproven player made into

something more than what they are, in this case Tebow has been made into the face of the NFL, the

model player the saint and everything else that’s good about the NFL, the NFL is full of good guys past

and present and they should honor that. Tim Tebow or Touchdown Jesus as some call him is the new

face of the NFL “Good Guy” but not the face of the NFL and if sports media would run there stories as

such Tebow would have true fans and not bandwagon fans.
