On The Road With Freeway

“From Philly to where I’m landing Ima “Cannon” and I’m my Philly fighting s*#t and I come fully equipped you try me get body and shotti in the whip if a n@%#a try to stick me ima blam him” There is no other way to Introduce the Philly native and former Roc-a-fella artist Freeway then to quote on of his strongest verses on the “Cannon” track he did with Lil Wayne a few years ago. Freeway has been a staple in hip-hop since he first hit the set with 1-900-Hustler, with 3 albums and finishing up his 4th Diamond In The Rough to be released in September. I’ve been a Freeway fan from the first time I heard him and I’ve been working along side him now for three years and I would have to say he is bar for bar one of the best in the game. Humble, Focused, Driven and Strongly Rooted in his Muslim Faith. Freeway always the jokester on the road took sometime out of our busy schedule to answer a view questions about his plans and his next steps to returning to the top.

Lets Talk about your 3 recorded albums and soon to be released Diamond In The Rough and explain a little bit why you choose the titles?

Philadelphia FreewayI wanted to rep where I’m from and they say your first album is the best cause you’ve waited all your life to put it out and I wanted to make sure I represented for my city.

Free At LastCause it had Free in it LOL…just kidding I was on my MLK with this one.

Stimulus PackageI went with Stimulus package cause hip-hop needed it at the time. Obama was stemming the nation and Jake and I was stemming hip-hop

Diamond In The Rough – I picked this title because the process of diamond making is tough it goes thru a long process but once it shines it shines forever

What can we expect on the Diamond In The Rough album, is it going to be the I got a point to prove Freeway or the lyrical assassin Freeway?

Both!!!

How big of a part would you say your faith plays into your success?

My faith is a major part of my life, it’s my core it keeps me grounded so it plays a huge part in my success.

You’ve been in 3 movies State Prop 1 & 2 and What We Do can we expect to see you in more?

Yes! I'm in the process of establishing freeway as brand music first then movies and films.

After seeing the State Property Reunion last week tell the world Is there a possible Roc Reunion?

Anything is possible I’m pushing for it. Hopefully people can set their pride aside and we can get this done.

Explain to the people what they need to do to become a part of #TeamEarly?

Follow me on twitter and wake up early. Its not just music its whatever you do early!!If you go to work, school, gym, anything that you do early.

Muslims across the United States have been ridiculed since the 9/11 attack with the recent death of Osama Bin Laden do you think the constant harassment and blame thrown on what is actually a peaceful and beautiful religion will subside.

I don’t think they will stop because it’s in those people heads; it’s the responsibility of Muslims to speak out and clear the air about the topic.

How do you fill about your ranking on the Top 50 Muslim Rappers list that was released on www.VladTv.com?

I think I should have been in the top 5. I pray 5 times a day and I’ve been to Mecca twice.

If Biggie & 2 Pac was still here where would the state of hip-hop be?

I think if they were still here a lot of people that’s on now wouldn’t be on. Biggie and Pac had the game on lock and losing them was like the circle of life in order for one thing to exist one thing must not exist.

FREEWAY THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO STOP BY AND HOLLA AT YA BOY, WE ARE ALL LOOKING FORWARD TO DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH. FROM YA BOY MARKIE “MILLION DOLLAR” STACKS WE OUT OF HERE.
