CAROLINA HIP-HOP MOVEMENT PT.5

The Temperature of Carolina Hip-Hop
Hot or Not

MY HIP-HOP HISTORY BOOKS TELL ME THAT THE BIRTH PLACE OF HIP-HOP IS NYC. WELL NOT ONLY IS IT THAT IT’S ALSO WHERE MY NEXT FEATURED ARTIST IS FROM. CALLING NORTH CAROLINA HOME FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS, AND HE’S DOING HIS PART TO HEAT UP THE MUSIC POT IN NC/SC. NASSAU BEEZ HAS BEEN DOING THIS THING CALLED MUSIC SINCE HIGH SCHOOL, ROCKING TALENT SHOWS AND COLLEGE STAGES SINCE ENTER LIVINGSTONE BEEZ HAS DROPPED 2 ALBUMS AND WORKING ON HIS NEXT PROJECT AS WE CONDUCTED THIS INTERVIEW. IN BETWEEN SET I HAD A CHANCE TO SIT DOWN WITH HIM AND GET HIS THOUGHTS ON THE INDUSTRY AND THE TEMPERATURE OF THE CAROLINA HIP-HOP MOVEMENT.

How did you get started with Hip Hop?

I use to watch my Uncle mix on turntables when I was young and he use to always tell me kick something while he scratched and since then its just been my love...

What artists inspired you too become involved with Hip Hop?

B.I.G. straight up and down. B.I.G. Was a musical Genius. His thought process and wordplay was far beyond rappers nowadays. I also listened to Jigga and the whole Roc, DmX, Lox and the Ruff Ryders, Ja Rule when he killed it, Wu Tang, Nasty Nas, Kanye West and his whole Movement. I listen to everybody so I'm inspired by Hip Hop in general but B.I.G. Did it...

How does it feeling coming off the success of your last Album?

Feels Good honestly u always feel u could have done better after a project is done cause you wanna be great. The Twilight Zone was epic, I enjoyed that time in my life everything was great even through the good and the bad...

So, what are your thoughts on the current state of the game?

The Game is good. It changes, it has to. Young dudes got new styles and ways of rap. You can't count artist out cause music is a creation and at the end of the day what we have now is just creative music people is feeling.

How do you separate yourself from other artists?

I'm true to what I do. I never lose the passion and I try to be versatile through it all. I want to record with everybody. I think some artist forget that the game is forever revolving and the become so hateful towards music the fall into a slump. Move with the Music stay hot and do you bring your swag into it.

Who do you want to work with in the future?

Everybody.....

What can we expect in the near future album wise?

Finishing up the Movement III as we speak. It's a classic. I recorded so many songs for it. I'm just narrowing the songs down to make a complete project but when it drop I think people will love it...

Are you planning on making the Carolina's home far as your music goes?

I love the Carolina's. It's my second home to NY... But I can't never make it home for music cause NY is. Its who made Nassau Beez who he is.

Last question before you go, what is the temperature of Carolina Hip-Hop?

Its Lukewarm right now. Its cooking in the pot but the flame ain't on high yet. Artist here got to heat it up and make this thing boil so the pot overflow. Some Artist here are good. Just the recognition for the state ain't were it should be.. Real talk.....

WELL PEOPLE THERE YOU HAVE IT NASSAU BEEZ THANKS FOR COMING BY AND I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT NEW ALBUM. FROM YA HOST MARKIE "MILLIONDOLLAR" STACKS I'M GONE.
